BERFÎN association is a Kurdish community center in Barcelona, Catalonia established in July 2025. As the Kurdish diaspora in Catalonia, we believe that we are strong only if we stand together and show solidarity with one another.
Although Catalonia has been a home to our Kurdish community here, our children born and raised away from the motherland should be able to learn their culture, language, past and struggle.
We also aim to bring Kurdish, Catalan and other peoples together and increase the solidarity among these groups.
For these reasons, we launched BERFÎN association and began organizing events such as workshops, picnics and language courses. Our goal is to create a physical space where Kurds and Catalan allies can come together more frequently through workshops ranging from arts to politics.
